ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Coordinate planning for materials department
- Coordination for processing materials to POU location by requirement date.
- Responsible for inventory accuracy and achieving inventory goals.
- Responsible for MRP, work MRP messages and monitor daily OAS (Order Action Summary)
- Ensure all aspects of the MRB process are followed.
- Monitor measure and meet all materials measurements.
- Drive the reduction of inventory adjustments.
- Ensure accurate implementation of the Engineering Change Orders to release jobs.
- Responsible for discrete job accuracy; maintaining accuracy for 500 series requirements and accuracy of reject requirements.
- Assist in reducing obsolete inventory.
- Responsible for work orders being released to Manufactuing on a timely basis; ensure release planned orders to release dates.
- Responsible for maintaining sub-inventories.
- Coordinate kitting actives from New Flyer in identified suppliers; update daily kitting reports and lists.
- Work with capacity planning to find under/over loads to determine if outsourcing or level loading is required" update weekly capacity charts.
- Ensure materials planning in the following key areas: responsible for making IR process, communication to other plants, monitor and reduce obsolete to zero, ensure gateways and blowing alleys are empty at the end of each shift, monitor and reduce past due demands to zero, reduce negatives to zero, new work order packages are delivered daily, shop orders are released to start day, review daily dispatch list, release planned, orders to release date, correct materials in shop order BOM as required, adjust shop order quantities increase / decrease are required, ensure closed jobs are auctioned daily, work shop orders process to completion stages.
- Work with Manufacturing Engineering to keep routing update.
- Prepare and publish past due measurement KPI's.
- Monitor and track parts status prior to and during production build.
- Attend and participate in department toolbox meetings.
- Assist in the department, communication and deployment of policies, guideline and tools to ensure success in all processes.
- Assist the materials team and leadership in achieving the budget in materials, supplies, salary / indirect labour, overtime, and operational expenses.
- Ensure the accuracy of data entered in the system.
- Drive continuous improvement in the supply base in support of business objectives.
- Promote and facilitate lean Manufactuing / 5S programs of materials.
- Assist and participate in cross training.
- Ensure compliance to ISO procedures, work instructions, 5P's and promote continuous improvement within the department.
- Assist manufacturing on day-to-day task.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
- Three plus years of experience in a manufacturing or inventory management role is highly preferred.
- APICS certification or currently enrolled in the programs would be considered an asset.
- Ability to communicate, establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Strong computer skills and ability to communicate effectively via phone and email.
- Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, and a self-starter that is motivated to achieve tasks within set timelines.
- Strong analytical skills, able to multitask, ability to adapt to rapid change and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
