GEMTEC is a growing firm with offices throughout Atlantic Canada and Ontario, and we are looking for a motivated and skilled Laboratory and Field Technician/Technologist to join our Team. We currently have an opening for Laboratory and Field Technician/Technologist in our Ottawa office starting May 2024.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have the following:

Educational & Experience Requirements:

· Currently enrolled in a college level diploma program.

· Experience with laboratory test procedures for soil, asphalt, concrete and aggregate considered an asset but not necessary as training will be provided.

· Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

· Ability to meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure.

· Strong multi-tasking, organization, and planning skills.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office.

· Maintain a clean working environment.

· Possess ability to lift 30-50lbs on a daily basis.

Other:

· 4 - 8 month contract position starting May 2024

· Must have a valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle.

Responsibilities

Main Duties:

· Laboratory testing of aggregates, soil, concrete, and asphalt.

· Various office, laboratory, and field tasks related to materials testing, geotechnical engineering, and environmental engineering.

· Record test data and prepare factual reports, summaries, data sheets or graphs for interpretation of test results.

· Performing other related duties as required.

· Following all company Health, Safety and Environmental policies.
