IMPACT Associate – Recreation (Temporary – up to 8 months)

Parks, Recreation and Facilities Department

 

Our goal in Recreation Services is to provide safe, inclusive, and meaningful recreation opportunities for everyone.

 

Your role will be to develop partnerships with groups that experience barriers and support a recreation subsidy program. You will represent the City of Victoria at community events and meetings. You will have opportunities to connect with recreational professionals. You will support the City’s recreation subsidy program, enter data and provide tours of the recreational facility.

 

An ideal candidate will have great communications and social skills and be able to multi-task. Some evening and weekend work may be required. This role is dynamic and hands-on. It offers excellent opportunities to develop skills and learn from teams in Parks, Recreation and Facilities Department.

 

POSITION FUNCTION

As an IMPACT Initiative Associate hired under the City of Victoria’s Inclusive Municipal Program for Advancing Careers and Training, you will be given meaningful and challenging assignments while being introduced to a career in municipal government. In this Associate position, you will assist with projects within a specific City department, contribute to the overall goals of the work unit, have job shadowing opportunities, and participate in educational experiences.
