Summary of the role
The candidate will contribute to the development and implementation of projects for new hydro power generating units and for the rehabilitation of existing facilities. As a member of the balance of plant engineering team responsible for the unit instrumentation, electrical systems and auxiliary systems, the tasks and responsibilities include:
- Produce engineering documents such as : electrical schematic, instrument specifications, cable list, cable specifications, P&ID diagrams, bill of material and 3D models for equipment arrangement and cable routing;
- Analyze technical specifications, data sheets, codes and standards, and other applicable documents to ensure that the engineering work complies with applicable codes and requirements;
- Participate with various engineering teams, suppliers and customers for the integration of electrical systems with applicable equipment;
- Communicate with subcontractors and provide them with the specifications and instructions necessary for the ordering of components and equipment;
- Actively participate in factory tests and occasional supplier inspections when required;
- Work with different teams to produce installation procedures and operation & maintenance documentation;
- Participate in the coordination and provide required support to the site installation of electrical systems and equipment;
- Provide technical support to the sales team in the preparation of estimates, technical documents and drawings required for bids;
- Participate in initiatives to improve project execution efficiency and cost reduction.

- AEC, DEC or any other training or experience deemed equivalent;
- Experience in AutoCAD Electrical;
- Experience in an hydroelectric field (asset);
- Knowledge of instrumentation : selection, configuration, testing (asset);
- Experience in 3D modeling (asset);
- Experience in the design of control systems (asset);
- Bilingual: fluent in spoken and written French and English (required);
- Good interpersonal skills, collaboration and teamwork (required);
- Strong self-learning ability for use of software (required);
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Excel, Word, Project, etc.);
- Willing to occasionally travel and perform “on site” field work.
