Job description
We are searching for energetic, creative people to support two young woman with intellectual disabilities in their home in Saskatoon. Support requirements include
assisting with day to day living skills in the home and community. Including assisting with personal care, over night support, accessing recreational opportunities such as movies, shows, coffee shops, facilitating friendships and outings, menu planning and grocery shopping, food prep, physical exercise. Emphasis is on teaching the required skills for these women.
The ideal candidate will possess a passion for working with individuals with disabilities, are a strong advocates, work independently, demonstrate a thorough understanding and belief in community inclusion. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy meeting new people and facilitating friendships. Furthermore candidate must have a kind, fun, friendly and outgoing personality. Important assets include demonstrated reliability and a committed and dedicated state of mind.
Experience working with people will be considered a benefit but not necessary as training will be provided.
Candidates will be required to transport and have access to a vehicle (mileage reimbursed), be prepared to provide documentation as required, will have a criminal record check.
Hours are varied but include day, nights, weekends. Start date as soon as possible.
Rates of pay are competitive and dependent on experience. Benefits will be provided following 6 month commitment and regular salary increments will be provided.
