We provide engineering and scientific solutions for future-ready communities and infrastructure for generations to come. Today we have offices throughout Atlantic Canada and in Ontario.

We are recruiting for a motivated and skilled Administrative Assistant-Lab Technician to join our team in the Petawawa office. This is a full-time position.

This role will involve providing crucial support to the office and materials laboratory. Additional duties include:

• Supporting the editing and formatting of technical reports
• Managing and organizing office operations, including filing and data entry
• Ensuring accuracy, clarity, and adherence to company standards in all written documentation
• Assisting with scheduling field staff site work
• Answering and directing phone calls, emails, and inquiries
• Procuring and managing office supplies and equipment
• Working hands-on in the materials laboratory during busy seasons, assisting with sample preparation, testing, and data collection
• Following laboratory safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Collaborating with laboratory staff to ensure efficient workflow and project timelines

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have strong computer skills, excel in administrative tasks, and be comfortable working in a laboratory environment. In addition, we are looking for someone with the following education and experience:

• Community college diploma or equivalent in office administration or a related field is an asset
• Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Proven experience as an administrative assistant, preferably in a laboratory or technical setting
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Willingness to participate in hands-on work in the laboratory during busy periods
