is seeking applicants for a
Alternative Care Administrative Assistant – Winnipeg Sub Office
1 FULL TIME POSITION
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction and supervision of the Alternative Care Coordinator, the incumbent is responsible for maintaining the Child & Family Services Information System (CFSIS) and provide administrative support for the Alternative Care Unit.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains an up-to-date master stats list; maintains various spreadsheets.
- Performs Prior Contact Checks on CFSIS; writes letters to agencies regarding any concerns with issuing a license to homes.
- Enters open homes, places of safety, closes homes as well as other functions on CFSIS.
- Audits information for new foster home licenses; ensures CFSIS homes are in compliance.
- Schedules meetings, including preparation, coordination and minute taking.
- Ensure all agencies Alternative Care unit files are maintained according to Alternative Care Management standards.
- Filing documents in files.
- Monitor and support the Alternative Care placements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of a recognized business/office skills program or equivalent; combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 3 - 4 years of direct work experience in an administrative assistant capacity.
- Ability to balance and prioritize multiple responsibilities while maintaining a keen sense of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office and CFSIS system.
- Demonstrates confidential and ethical behaviour in the performance of all duties.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and access to reliable insured vehicle.
- Must pass a criminal records check, child abuse registry check and prior contact checks.
- Ability to speak Island Lake Dialect (Oji-Cree) would be an asset.
