We are recruiting on behalf of a Canadian public company located in Etobicoke. They are seeking a progressive Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA-CA or CPA) with strong leadership experience from a financial reporting/corporate accounting functional background. Overseeing a team including accounting operations, this role will be responsible for external financial reporting and controllership duties including budgeting, tax, payroll, and corporate accounting.
Key responsibilities and oversight:
• Facilitation of financial reporting including financial statements, working papers, and public filings
• Ownership of corporate accounting function and assist with the upgrade of a new GL system
• Provide various other reporting including weekly cash flows and internal management reporting
• Establish and maintain internal controls including best practices and addressing risks
• Oversight of accounting operations including cash management, AP, Billing, AR, and Payroll
• Development of annual business plans and monitoring financial performance against plan
The successful candidate will possess the following:
• Chartered Professional Accountant designation (CPA-CA or CPA)
• 8+ years of progressive experience in public accounting and relevant industry positions
• Experience with public company financial reporting requirements under IFRS
• Strong leadership skills, team development and management experience
• Ability to communicate and partner with non-financial stakeholders
