Human Resources Specialist

JOB DESCRIPTION

Full Time $23.60/hour

POSITION SUMMARY
Work with the human resources team to develop and implement procedures related to new hires and termination procedures, while maintaining the confidentiality of all agency and department information. The HR Specialist is required to handle confidential materials with discretion and sensitivity and exercise good judgement.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

GENERAL HUMAN RESOURCES

»Conduct on-boarding for all new hires.

»Respond to verification of income and employment requests.

»Process transfer paperwork as well as maintain personnel files related to new hires and transfers.

»Maintain the Human Resource Management System related to new hires, transfers and promotions.

»Responsible for recruitment and onboarding activities, background checks, and other tasks as assigned.

»Conducts research and assists in the process for writing agency job descriptions.

»Provide support in scheduling Regulatory training,

»Conducts quarterly audits and reports to ensure that all HRIS and payroll systems are showing the same information and are accurate for reporting.

»Maintain a professional working relationship with the Finance Department.

»Conducts research for compensation and market data as assigned.

»Processes the documentation for Unemployment inquiries.

»I-9 compliance

»Assist with employee appreciation events and efforts.

»Responds to basic HR inquiries.

»Run Medicaid Fraud search

»Schedule PPD appointments, maintain records and conduct quarterly audit.

»Attend local job fairs

»Performs all other tasks as assigned.



AGENCY STANDARDS

»Maintain a work environment in a clean and safe manner. Conduct everyday inspections of immediate work area(s) to look for unsafe conditions;

»Be familiar with the Safety and Health Accident avoidance Program and abide by all safety and health rules, work practices, and regulations;

»Ensure all departmental accidents are thoroughly investigated and properly documented and reported to immediate manager and Human Resources;

»Supervise and evaluate employee health and safety performance;

»Ensure staff knows what to do in the event of an emergency;

»Provide leadership abilities and positive direction necessary for maintaining a safe work environment as well as hold all subordinates accountable in providing direction necessary for maintaining a safe work environment;

»Works cooperatively with agency staff to assure that the mission, vision and values of GHV Inc. are met.

»Demonstrates a positive work attitude and habits as a function model for vocational success for our trainees and employees.

»Responsible for knowledge and adhering to Gateway Hudson Valley's Corporate Compliance Policy and Standards of Conduct. Will keep abreast of all pertinent federal, state and Gateway Hudson Valley regulations, laws and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified. Insure that staff are knowledgeable of all applicable regulations, laws and policies.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

»Bachelor's Degree Peferred (with at least 1 year of eperience in recruiting)

»Associate's Degree plus at least 2 years of exerience

»Must have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

»Must be able to manage multiple priorities

»Professionalism and capability to handle confidential information with integrity



WORKING CONDITIONS

»Must be able to sit or stand for a minimum of 8 hours per day

»Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. on occasion

»Must be able to bend or kneel occasionally

» REGULATORY CLEARANCES REQUIRED: Must possess a clean driving record.
