The Belleville Canada  IT Plant Operations Analyst role exists to be on site for the delivery and continuous improvement of IT services at the local level and to support the implementation of the Digital Manufacturing roadmap at Manufacturing sites. This position will provide technical support to their organizations as well as to other functions. The IT Analyst will ensure that a high level of customer service and support is provided, demonstrating reliable, professional, excellent communication, with proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision as part of a geographically disperse team. The incumbent will work closely with IT & plant stakeholders and will provide support for workplace technology, networks, and other foundational infrastructure. Responsibilities include administration of the site networking and server equipment, the proper inventorying of technology and assisting responding teams while resolving service incidents. The role works closely with Plant Engineers, corporate PC&IS, Level 1, 2 and 3 sustainment teams and keeps two-way communication on plant needs and IT policies applicable to the site. The role will proactively inform of plant outages, service disruptions and engage with internal and external parties as needed for recovery.  

 

  Working Relationships:

 

• Reports To: Sr Manager IT / Director IT.

 

• Supervises: External Contractors.

 

• Peer Relationships: Plant Analyst, Plant Digital Team.

 

HERE’S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING :

 

This individual will be responsible for maintaining the reliability and functionality of our desktop systems, including hardware, software, and network connections. They will handle IT issues and will provide hands on support for employees in resolving incidents. This role will involve providing first-level technical support to end-users, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues. Installing, configuring, and maintaining desktops, laptops, and peripherals as well as assist in software deployment and updates. Additionally, this person will manage user accounts, permissions, and security settings within Office 365, troubleshoot and resolve Office 365-related issues, maintain and support servers and server infrastructure and perform routine server maintenance tasks, including updates and backups. Lastly, this person will also need to maintain accurate documentation of hardware and software configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides and update inventory records and asset management systems.

 

They also must have strong communication and customer service skills as they will be working with users hands-on at plant. We are looking for a candidate with a go-getter personality and willingness to grow within the role and within the company long-term.

 

Process Improvement:

 

Work closely with internal teams (IT Infra / App Dev/ Purchase) to ensure awareness of vendor workflows, provide training or coaching workshop sessions, identify process improvements areas, and fix them. Recommend, improvements to Make IT better for plant office & plant floor personnel.

 

Vendor Management:

 

Ensure right management of software spending and optimization, proper usages of licenses pool and compliance with contract defined rules. Maintains the relationship with vendors. Manage and maintain various supported software keep consistency check with vendor inventory and fix the gap.
