Job Summary:
As a Warehouse Supervisor at Iqbal Halal Foods, you will be responsible for leading the grocery store’s warehouse departments to ensure the upkeep and functionality of our facilities. Your duties will include planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and evaluating maintenance activities within our materials management, warehouse operations, inventory control, inventory management and distribution center operations. You will oversee maintenance operations in various facilities, including warehouses, retail outlets, and administrative buildings.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the activities of warehouse clerks, including shipping, receiving, storing, distributing, and inventory maintenance.
- Plan and assign tasks to ensure efficient operation, including processing purchasing transactions, coordinating production work, and scheduling transportation crews and routes.
- Enforce compliance with safety and security policies, procedures, and regulations, actively participating in their enhancement and implementation.
- Address and resolve issues and complaints promptly, implementing corrective measures and process improvements as needed.
- Provide comprehensive training to staff on job duties and safety protocols.
- Manage the requisition of necessary supplies and materials to support warehouse operations.
- Ensure seamless functioning of computer systems, equipment, and machinery, coordinating maintenance and repair tasks as required.
- Conduct performance reviews for supervised employees, providing feedback and guidance for improvement.
- Perform hands-on duties alongside supervised workers as necessary to support operational needs.
Minimum Skills Requirements:
- Completion of Secondary School is required;
- Completion of a post-secondary degree/diploma in Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field is preferred;
- At least two (2) years of work experience in receiving shipments and organizing inventory within a supervisor or managerial position is required;
- Prior experience in the retail grocery industry is preferred; and
- Must have strong time management skills and be attentive to detail, dependable, organized and have effective interpersonal and communication skills.
