Description The
Assistant Superintendent in Industrial Mechanics plays a key role within a construction or civil engineering company, supervising activities related to industrial mechanics on construction sites. This professional assists the principal superintendent in coordinating teams, planning work and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities •Assist the senior superintendent in the management and coordination of teams of workers specialized in industrial mechanics on construction sites.
•Participate in the coordination of the various stakeholders (customers, suppliers, subcontractors, technicians).
•Collaborate with the work supervisor and professionals by listening to their instructions and carrying out the work to their satisfaction.
•Identify and communicate work execution priorities to subcontractors.
•Participate in the development of work plans and production schedules to ensure timely completion of projects.
•Supervise daily activities on site, ensuring that industrial mechanical work is carried out in accordance with plans, technical specifications and safety standards.
•Ensure quality control of industrial mechanical work by carrying out regular inspections and ensuring compliance with the quality standards established by the company.
•Participate in the management of human, material and financial resources necessary for the execution of industrial mechanics work, in collaboration with the chief superintendent.
•Promote and apply safety measures on site to ensure a safe working environment that complies with current regulatory standards.
•Maintain accurate records of site activities, including progress reports, quantity takeoffs and incident reports, ensuring traceability and compliance with contractual requirements.
•Participate in the training and development of staff under your responsibility, ensuring that team members acquire the skills necessary to perform their tasks efficiently and safely.
Requirements •Degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering or a related field.
•Experience in a role supervising or coordinating industrial mechanical work, preferably in the field of construction or civil engineering, an asset.
•Extensive knowledge of the principles and techniques of industrial mechanics, including equipment, machines and processes used in the industry.
•Knowledge of industrial piping (steel and stainless), an asset.
•Ability to read and interpret technical plans, mechanical drawings and construction specifications.
•Leadership, team management and problem solving skills.
•Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary team members.
•Mobility to move around construction sites and meet operational needs.
•Knowledge of safety standards and occupational health and safety regulations.
•Excellent oral and written communication.
