Position Location: Notre Dame Campus (Winnipeg, MB)

DUTIES

Reporting to the Manager, Financial Services, the Financial Analyst Lead coordinates and oversees a team of Financial Analysts (FA), providing guidance and mentoring to ensure that FA analyses and recommendations comply with Red River College Polytechnic policies and department procedures and goals, as well as support meeting the Polytechnic's strategic priorities. The Financial Analyst Lead reviews processes for the FA team and associated areas and recommends changes as needed to the Manager, Financial Services. The Financial Analyst Lead represents the FA team on working groups and projects to provide financial leadership and to bring information to Financial Services department.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Canadian recognized Professional Accounting Designation (CPA) in good standing

• Significant experience as a supervisor or leading a team to achieve successful results

• Significant experience with financial statement analysis, budgeting, variance analysis, forecasting and planning

• Excellent understanding and significant experience with full cycle accounting

• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to communicate with a variety of stakeholders

• Experience gathering and analyzing data, building financial decision models and financial analysis to support decision making

• Ability to be detailed oriented as well as big-picture focused

• Excellent organization and time management skills with the ability to coordinate, prioritize and plan amongst competing deadlines and requests while meeting tight monthly, yearly and adhoc deadlines

• Must be solutions oriented, self motivated, have a positive attitude, manage changes on short notice and demonstrate initiative

• Experience creating custom internal and external reports

• Experience with integrated financial system and financial software applications

• Experience with Microsoft Office tools, specifically advanced Excel knowledge and experience, as well as excellent understanding of tools for presentation, communication and reporting

• Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

• Internal or External Auditing Experience

• Development of metrics and performance indicators

• Experience as a CPA mentor

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

• Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada

• This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends

• Incumbent must provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Records Check

Salary: $67,220 - $91,988 per annum
