Job description

BCIT's *Campus Planning and Facilities* department is seeking a *regular, full-time (1.0 FTE) Assistant Foreperson, Mechanical*. The Assistant Mechanical Foreperson assists the Mechanical Foreperson with overseeing day-to-day operations including scheduling and supervision of shift engineers, building maintenance staff, and service contractors. The Assistant Mechanical Foreman assists in creating, assigning and monitoring the completion of Deferred Maintenance (DM) and Preventative Maintenance (PM) work orders while ensuring compliance with all safety measures and regulations.
This position is often an emergency first responder, required to troubleshoot, innovate solutions and make quick, critical decisions in consultation with others, which potentially impacts public safety, legal regulatory obligations, and BCIT business operations. This position is required to be fully conversant with Internet of Things (IoT), current web-hosted building automation Direct Digital Control (DDC) and energy management technologies.
