Job Description

As innovation at CIMA+ is part of the overall vision, our growing teams are called upon to produce engineering drawings for various disciplines, in 2D and 3D, to carry out our projects for our Energy T&D sector.

As market leaders in the design of power transmission and distribution (T&D) power systems in Canada, our growing team is called upon to produce innovative and efficient designs. You will be joining a highly specialized engineering design team that is focused on meeting the growing electricity demand while implementing clean energy projects for a sustainable future.

The candidate will be a technical reference, key mentor, and could eventually manage a team of drafters to support all T&D engineering initiatives in British Columbia . This is a position based in Vancouver, BC.

• Lead and develop a team of drafters to support the different engineering disciplines involved in our T&D projects (transmission, distribution, telecommunications, substations assets)
• Ensure quality and accuracy of all drafting work as per internal standards
• Create and revise complex and detailed CAD drawings (Autodesk series, 2D and 3D) for our T&D projects
• Ensure adherence of our engineering deliverables to our client’s standards and requirement
• Organize and maintain drawings by using our drawing management system to ensure security and accessibility
• Communicate professionally with clients
• Coordinate with other discipline engineers, designers and CAD staff as part of a multidisciplinary team

Qualifications

• Diploma in drafting or equivalent
• A minimum ten (10) years of drafting experience or equivalent
• Experience mentoring a team of drafters, providing technical support, and guidance on drafting execution
• Proficient in the use of Autodesk software series (Microstation an asset)
• Mastery of 3D drawing software (Civil3D, Revit, Advanced Steel an asset)
• Relevant working experience in utility transmission & distribution (T&D) infrastructure (an asset)
• Good oral and written communication in English (French an asset)
• Autonomy, sense of initiative and ability to work in a team
• Strong organizational skills to plan and implement work within a specified budget while meeting the project deadlines

The expected salary for this position is from $88,560.00 to $110,700 based on the richness and diversity of the candidate’s experience, training, skills and internal equity. The position or associated salary could vary depending on the profile of the candidate.
