Reporting to the Director, Quality Improvement and Project Management, the Change Management Lead will support RVH’s strategic plan by providing leadership and coaching for change management initiatives that help to create and sustain the organization's ability to manage change and growth. Using change management best practices, this role will develop and lead change management plans in collaboration with project sponsors and champions to generate successful adoption and minimize resistance of major strategic initiatives, such that business results are achieved. This role will focus on the people side of change. As an enabler of change in the organization, this role will lead the development and implementation of a framework that supports and advances change management. This role will also lead change management planning of major projects and initiatives, providing both coaching and training to leaders and staff to promote a culture that successfully navigates change.
As the Change Management Lead, you will be part of a dynamic and supportive team, working within an established Quality Improvement and Project Management Office. RVH is a regional health centre and therefore, projects regularly involve partner hospitals and other healthcare agencies. Access to reliable transportation for travel to partner sites may be required. During critical implementation periods, the ability to work off-hours and/or non-business hours may be required. Currently, the Change Management Lead position works onsite together with senior leaders, colleagues, and project teams, with an option to work-from-home on a part-time basis as work deliverables allow.
Responsibilities:
- Identify, prioritize, and lead change management initiatives throughout the organization
- Follow standardized change management processes to support change impacts and adoption process
- Develop and lead change management plans for major strategic projects
- Provide change management consultation to leaders who are rolling out change initiatives within their departments
- Act as a coach for all levels of leaders and members of Team RVH to support their roles and help them through the transitions and change management activities in their project plans
- Identify, analyze, and prepare risk mitigation tactics to manage anticipated resistance
- Work with Project Management Leads to align change management plans and activities with the project’s technical workplan
- Create and/or review communication plans, sponsor roadmaps, coaching plans, training plans, resistance management plans and sustainability plans to support change management activities
- Design and implement a corporate change management training program
- Complete change management assessments
- Evaluate and ensure user readiness prior to go lives
- Define and measure success metrics and monitor change progress
Education:
- Undergraduate Degree in Health Sciences, Leadership, Business, Quality, Psychology, or Project Management
- Change management certification
- Coaching / facilitation certification
- Teaching and training certification
- Evidence of continuing education in related fields
Experience:
- 5 years professional experience in a similar role, preferably in a complex healthcare setting
- Experience and working knowledge of change management principles, methodologies, and tools
- Experience and working knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, and tools
- Experience building and leading effective working relationships and teams
- Experience in the areas of leadership, coaching, teaching and communication
