The Interprofessional Practice and Learning team facilitates and advances person-centered care through evidence-based professional practice and learning strategies and programs that are designed provincially and implemented locally to enhance collaborative learning and practice. The Interprofessional Practice and Learning team takes a leadership role in creating a culture of collaboration with a focus on team-based care, evidence-informed practice, and learning and professional development to improve health outcomes for patients, families and communities. Through strong partnerships with the academic sector, regulators, and government, the Interprofessional Practice and Learning team has an integral role in influencing and operationalizing health system priorities.

 

About the Opportunity


Reporting to the Manager, Interprofessional Practice & Learning, the Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) is responsible (in collaboration with key stakeholders) for the assessment, implementation, planning and evaluation and supportive application of existing and new clinical knowledge and the translation of knowledge to practice. The prime focus of the CNE is to build capacity and be present at the point of care to develop and contribute to core and specialty programs while advancing practice. The CNE practices according to the Registered Nurses Act, Nova Scotia College of Nursing, and Standards of Practice for Registered Nurses. The CNE demonstrates competency in practice, program design and implementation, monitoring and evaluation of education, leadership and professional practice. The Clinical Nurse Educator exhibits the knowledge, attitudes and behaviors that align with the Interprofessional Practice and Learning Framework. This framework is grounded in theories of adult and concept based learning, practice development, fundamentals of care and collaborative learning and practice.

 

Please note this position requires periodic travel to facilities within Nova Scotia. A valid driver’s license and access to transportation is required.

Hours of Work


Long Assignment Full-Time (75 hours biweekly)
Beginning April 1, 2024, until April 1, 2025

Compensation and Benefits

 

$49.80 - $59.44 hourly
$97,116 - $115,902 annually
$61.52 hourly ($119,9580 annually) with 25 years' Registered Nurse experience.
