Job description
We are currently recruiting an experienced Powertrain Transmission Calibration Engineer to join our team supporting our client in the automotive industry.
NOTE:
- Hybrid
- Must be willing and able to travel to the USA, without restrictions, effective on the start date
- Valid driver's license is required as well as a clean driving record
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Developing the customer driving experience as well as optimizing fuel economy
- Work on transmission clutch control and/or drive strategy calibration related activities
- Developing methodologies and tools to support analysis and verification, delivery of high quality calibrations from start to finish of new programs, developing and calibrating/validating new features
- Working with cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure that program requirements are met on time, supporting test trips to verify proper transmission operation across operating conditions
- Troubleshooting and developing solutions to issues as they occur
- In-vehicle test instrumentation, ETAS-INCA calibration tools and mathematical analysis tools such as Matlab to meet objectives
- Developing methodologies and tools to support analysis and verification,
- Delivery of high quality calibrations from start to finish of new programs
- Developing and calibrating/validating new features
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors of science degree in electrical, mechanical, aerospace or automotive engineering from an accredited program
- One (1) year of experience in automotive engineering
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft office
- Experience with Matlab scripting and other useful data processing languages/tool sets ex: Python, JavaScript/NodeJS, etc.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Experience with Google Suite (Docs, Slides, Sheets)
- Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills
- Good teamwork skills and ability to work independently
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Good interpersonal relationship
- Ability to work as a team
- Conflict and crisis management
PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with powertrain systems
- Experience with powertrain calibration
- Database management of production calibrations
- Demonstrated ability to drive improvements based on customer feedback
- Knowledge of statistics and statistical methods
- Knowledge of software and equipment for calibration, measurement and analysis (Inca-Etas / Horiba)
- Knowledge of the dyno environment and tools related to it, such as: Puma, Cameo, Indicom, Concerto
- Experience with Formula SAE
