Job description

High Tide Inc. is looking for a passionate, and creative Marketing Coordinator to join our dynamic, high-growth cannabis company. This position will be based out of Calgary and will function as per Toronto office hours (EST). This position will report directly to the Marketing Manager and will oversee the marketing needs for all of High Tide’s brands, with a strong focus on Canna Cabana, the largest cannabis retailer in Canada.

The  Marketing Coordinator plays a key role in bringing Canna Cabana’s recreational cannabis strategy to life in our retail stores, and across digital media to create seamless integrated marketing campaigns.

The Marketing Coordinator will plan the development of innovative strategies and go-to-market plans for both new launches and core businesses to drive brand growth. Key responsibilities include coordinating projects with cross functional teams, developing innovation ideas for campaigns through trend, competitive and category analyses, writing product copy and concepts, coordinating key product launch information, and executing marketing campaigns including in-store retail marketing initiatives. This role is an opportunity for a proactive, self-motivated individual to use both creative and analytical skills to drive and coordinate new campaign executions from concept to launch.

A day in the life:

• Support the marketing department's initiatives with the planning, executing, and tracking of marketing programs such as in-store/retail, content marketing, social media, e-mail, etc
• Independently coordinate marketing campaigns, new store openings (ensuring all marketing collateral and roadside signage is ordered), events, including overseeing logistics, coordinating with vendors
• Work alongside our Content Editor to create, proofread, and edit copy for various marketing channels, ensuring consistent voice. Audit website marketing related content for accuracy, proofread and edit blog posts submitted by writers before publication
• Evaluate and monitor campaign performance on an ongoing basis by analyzing key metrics and creating comprehensive reports
• Manage relationships with external vendors to ensure high-quality and timely execution of marketing programs
• Schedule marketing team meetings, draft agendas and distribute meeting minutes
• Visiting stores during critical campaign launches to ensure merchandising, signage and implementation of ongoing campaigns is to standard and auditing digital media (i.e website, social, programmatic ads, etc) to ensure a seamless integrated marketing campaign
• Working with district/area managers and visual merchandiser to achieve marketing compliance across all stores
• Ensuring retail marketing signage/assets have been ordered correctly in coordination with our Visual Merchandiser and internal design department
• Taking initiative, conducting research, monitoring trends with the aim of identifying marketing gaps/opportunities
• Monitor and analyze category and competitive performance on an ongoing basis.
• Help to coordinate key project tracking documents and calendars
• Oversee artwork process including reviewing and approving artwork
• Brief and create integrated consumer campaigns for new launches and key core products including messaging, hero assets, in-store activations, digital executions, and more.

You’ll be great for this role if you have:

• Attention to detail, are highly organized with strong time management skills, and like ensuring communications to stores are clear, accurate, and easy to follow.
• Knowledge of cannabis and accessories a bonus
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft applications including PowerPoint, Word and Excel required.
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments, oversee multiple projects at once, ability to work under tight deadlines, and lead a project from start to finish.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as outstanding copy writing and proofreading skills
• Firm grasp on various marketing platforms, channels, and best practices, including social, digital, and email marketing
• Must be a self-starter and able to independently move projects forward, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
• 1-3 years of experience in a marketing related role
• Experience briefing design departments or agencies
• Proactive individual with the ability to self-manage projects and overcome obstacles independently.
• Bachelors degree in Marketing or relevant field preferred
