Organizational Information
Purpose of your Position - Non Union The Police Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for municipal oversight and quality assurance of all investigational files including compliance with legal statutes, policies and guidelines. The position is responsible for the creation, implementation and effective communication of policies and procedures to police professionals. This position provides support and coverage to the Police Services Municipal supervisory team
Classification Summary - Union Duties - Union Results and Activities - Non union 1. Record Management Systems: - Quality assurance of data in the records management systems.
- Oversight of accurate Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) classifications and reporting offences to Canadian Center for Justice Statistics (CCJS).
- Develop, implement and communicate policies for business practice and workflow.
- Develop standard operating procedures for the records management system.
2. Support RCMP Business process: - Supervision and maintenance of records management systems.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures for the quality assurance units.
- Contact and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for RCMP IBM platforms.
- Review, report and provide statistics for RCMP Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
3. Manage human resources, provide leadership and committee involvement: - Direct reports: 16 full-time employees; quality assurance casual employees.
- Hire, coach, mentor, develop, motivate, discipline, and reward employees.
- Performance reviews, shift/vacation scheduling, deployment of employees, time management, training, safety committee representative.
- Performance management: management of work, workload and prioritization.
4. Manage budget: - Capital budget: Responsibility (Check one): Contributory X yearly dependent up to $100,000

Credentials - Union Knowledge - Non Union This position requires experience (7+ years) in a policing environment, supervisory experience and post secondary education in management and several years’ computer experience. This position requires extensive knowledge in researching and interpreting RCMP policy. Knowledge and practical experience in uniform crime reporting (UCR), operational statistical reporting (OSR), Canadian Centre for Justice Statistics (CCJS), Police Records Information Management Environment (PRIME), Justin (Provincial records management system shared by Police, Courts and Crown), Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC), access to information and privacy act (ATIP) is essential
Skills & Abilities - Non Union The Quality Assurance Supervisor will have strong written and verbal communication skills, well developed research, analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent consultation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, strong organizational and project management skills. Conflict resolution, leadership, innovative thinking, and sound computer skills are essential. Must be able to obtain and maintain an RCMP Security Clearance
