ABOUT THE ROLE
An exciting and challenging role within TransAlta for a Mid-office professional to engage in Trade Controls functions associated with TransAlta’s proprietary and asset-backed trading activities. Reporting to the Director Analytics & Oversight and working cross-functionally with both Energy Marketing and Operations, you will draw on your experience, initiative, energy, and analytical skills to understand, monitor, analyze, and report on all aspects of the Trade Controls function.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Designated employee with the right to perform and authorize functions in external trade related platforms. Functions include the management of user access (add, modify, delete); configuration of user access rights; and manage user certificates and IP whitelisting
Configure, monitor, and manage employee access within internal trading systems
Investigate and report on segregation of duty violations among Front, Mid, and Back-office functions
Generate monthly and quarterly ‘trade control’ reports
Monitor, investigate, and report on trade authority violations, trade unlocks, and trade voids
Work with internal and external audit on ‘trading control’ walk-throughs and documentation requests
Facilitate the Exceptions (errors) Management process, including monthly reporting of exceptions, investigation of disputed and critical exceptions, and providing recommendations for process, technology, and training improvements
