Quantity Surveyor
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a well known Main contractor working on a large water infrastructure programme throughout the London Region.
The company is a well know Main contractor who operate nationwide throughout the UK and have a number of Regional offices. Your role as Quantity Surveyor you will be joining the commercial team. As a Quantity Surveyor you will work with the delivery team, providing support to both the delivery management and on-site delivery teams.

Key responsibilities for this Quantity Surveyor role:
- Play a key supporting role in the commercial and cost management of a number of projects within a portfolio of works from inception through to close out.
- Work closely with the delivery team
- Ensure that operations are carried out to control costs, maximising value, minimising future liabilities and maintaining the required standard
- Assist the Estimating team
- Ensure robust estimates align to scope and make allowance for risk and opportunities
- Work closely with the procurement team, construction team and project team
- Prepare sub contract orders/payments
- Prepare procurement strategies and ensuring they reflect agreed scope.
- Work with NEC contract
- Produce accurate live forecasting
- Responsible for ensuring actual costs are monitored and assessed.
- Provide reports on actual costs vs estimates, identify underlying reasons for varianceand resolutions
- Ensure that proper records are kept and maintained
Experience required for this Quantity Surveyor role:
- Experience in a similar role
- Ideally water experience
- If not a strong civils, highways or utilities background would work
- NEC experience
- Strong communication skills are required
- Travel to site and offices required although some hybrid work is offered
