We currently have an opportunity for Strategic Sourcing Marketing Manager to develop national sourcing strategies against various business objectives for internal clients. You will be an expert in indirect procurement with superior communication and negotiation skills.
Here's where you'll be focusing:
- Spend categories under management for this role include: marketing media, agency, print, public relations, meetings & events, market research, shopper marketing, creative services, however we often source items beyond the aforementioned.
- Developing National sourcing strategies to deliver against business objectives for internal clients.
- Evaluating supplier core competencies and competitive positioning using industry cost models and benchmarking analysis; leveraging key-insights to inform and support the category strategy development process.
- • Managing the fundamentals of sourcing and supplier engagement activities including RFx, spend pattern analysis, contract analysis, bid evaluation, negotiations, and supplier consolidation.
- Preparing and holding business reviews with stakeholders to review vendor performance, future opportunities, and/or challenges.
- Leading supplier engagement requests from business units, understanding their business needs, strategies and objectives in order to align our deliverables to meet Sobeys procurement policy and processes.
- Manage multiple deals simultaneously, often to tight deadlines, while maintaining compliance and reporting requirements.
- Drive value in supply chain/total cost of ownership sourcing initiatives through early engagement, commercial acumen, market knowledge, and contract negotiation. Activities also include supplier engagement, contract negotiation, solution/supplier evaluations (including due diligence) and supplier selection activities
- Awareness and management of initiative based business unit spend as it relates to third party engagements, in order to create P&L and cost avoidance recognized by the business and organization
- Develop trust based relationships with department stakeholders by leveraging third party spend and the expertise of our key suppliers to meet our needs, reduce total cost, and mitigate supply-related risks.
- Working with engagement-based key partners to provide Sr. Management and Sourcing Executives with contract overview, identifying commercial terms, risks, mitigations and spend policy approvals for review, feedback and approvals prior to completion of agreement.

What you have to offer:

- Experience in Project Management with strong analytical skills
- Fluency with Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint, Word and SharePoint.
- 5+ years of experience practicing best-in-class procurement processes (category management, benchmarking, should-cost models, RFX, reverse auction, contracting, etc.).

The salary range for this position in British Columbia is $91,000 - $125,000. We will consider factors such as your working location, work experience and skills as well as internal equity, and market conditions to ensure that you are paid fairly and competitively.
