ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT OF CYBER SECURITY AND DIGITAL SOLUTIONS (CSDS)

 

Welcome to the Department of Cyber Security and Digital Solutions (CSDS), the guiding force behind digital transformation within the Government of Nova Scotia. Formerly known as the Nova Scotia Digital Service (NSDS) within the Department of Service Nova Scotia and Internal Services (SNSIS), we have evolved into a standalone department with a focused mission.

About Our Opportunity

 

Reporting to the Manager, Core Infrastructure, you are proficient in a specialty area(s), providing guidance and specialized support services. You will ensure effective and efficient availability, deployment, and maintenance of IT assets for the Government of Nova Scotia in a manner that meets or exceeds the established customer service standards. You will play a key role in supporting core Service Support processes to ensure a consistent level of services to the users.

Qualifications and Experience

 

To be successful in this role, you will have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science plus a minimum of three years' experience or graduation from a recognized Information Technology program plus three years and six months of experience (or the equivalent combination of training and experience).

 

Related experience must include at least two years working in Server environments and 6 months experience working in small projects and/or teams. Experience in virtualization, and OS level support is essential. Experience in an on-premises virtualized environment (e.g. VMWare),storage solutions, backup and supporting large, mission critical (7x24) environments are definite assets to the position.

 

Knowledge of project management methodology, ITIL processes, and IT and Security policies and procedures in Government, are also assets. Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills are required, as well as demonstrated ability to interact effectively with clients, staff, peers, and management. Ideally, you will be flexible and adaptable to changing business priorities.
