Position Summary
The Director of Children’s Ministries will develop strategies that support and equip parents in the discipling of their children.

Responsibilities
- Oversee Grandview Kids (Sunday morning equipping time for children), selecting curriculum and setting out a plan for biblical training.
- Oversee yearly Vacation Bible School week.
- Build and equip a team of Grandview Kids volunteers who seek to teach the Scriptures effectively and shepherd children on Sunday mornings and during the Vacation Bible School week.
- Work with the Pastor of Youth & Discipleship to effectively transition children into the Junior High student ministry.
- Create and maintain yearly Children’s Ministries’ budget.
- Train all volunteers serving in children’s ministries in our child protection policies and ensure a safety protocol against abuse is being adhered to by all staff and volunteers.
- Support Women in the Word by helping recruit childcare workers.
- Support mid-week Kids Club ministry (as needed).
- Work with the Pastor of Outreach & Administration to support summer outreach camps.
- Work with Pastor of Youth & Discipleship to oversee child dedications.
- Work with Pastor of Youth & Discipleship to provide two resourcing events per year for parents.
- Visit parents with new babies and provide a gift on behalf of the church.
Qualifications
- Possess the biblical qualifications of a deacon(ness) according to 1 Timothy 3:8-13
- Have the ability to gather and disciple children ministry volunteers
- Demonstrate a humble dependence on the Holy Spirit through prayer
- Be able to teach the Bible
- Preference will be given to formal theological training but is not a necessity
Accountability
The Director of Children’s Ministries will serve under the supervision of the Pastor of Youth & Discipleship. This position is ultimately accountable to the Elders’ board through the Lead Pastor.
Duration
The Director of Children’s Ministries is a permanent part-time position of 15-20 hours per week (negotiable).

Office Protocol
- Attend weekly staff meetings
- Office space and technological support will be provided
- Meet with the Pastor of Youth & Discipleship regularly for support and accountability
