The Customer Solutions Team is looking for a highly motivated Senior Electrification Analyst to support the electrification program at Nova Scotia Power to create exciting new products and services for electricity customers in Nova Scotia. This role will be on the frontline of growth and strategy to drive decarbonization, decentralization and digitalization. We’re finding new ways to deliver the best experience and value for customers with fresh approaches, new technologies and solutions.

As a Senior Electrification Analyst, you will:
Articulate new opportunities and validate new solutions with research, data and analysis.
Deliver competitive intelligence through analysis of marketplace trends, mapping business models, and validating customer needs.
Create and work with financial models to size and detail electrification program development.
Track key data to report on and evaluate progress and success metrics.
Interview customers and internal stakeholders to understand their needs, pains and gains and iterate based on feedback.
Support internal groups with developing new projects, cost estimates, and forecasts as needed.
Prepare and present knowledge and opportunity briefs for senior leadership and for use in strategic decision making.
Assist in the regulatory process for new and existing electrification initiatives including application development and ongoing reporting.
Assist in prioritizing emerging opportunities for further investment and collaborate on recommendations to senior leadership on which opportunities should proceed.

You have a post-secondary degree, preferably in business, commerce, public policy or engineering, and 5 – 10 years relevant experience with business analysis and modelling.
Experience in energy and utilities and/or regulated industry is an asset but not required. You are comfortable in multiple verticals and working in ambiguous environments. You have extended knowledge of different markets, technologies, and business models.
You are an ambitious, optimistic team player with an entrepreneurial “can-do” attitude. You can demonstrate experience solving challenges and persevering through roadblocks.
You have worked in a cross-functional team environment and are comfortable doing so.
You can translate sophisticated concepts into simplified, data driven analysis that supports strategy.
You have demonstrated exceptional communication skills in written and spoken English and can create and articulate messages concisely for a variety of audiences.
You are committed, pro-active and organized. You are dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers, always acting with the customer in mind.
You are proficient in the Microsoft suite of programs. You are comfortable collaborating online or in person and work in the open.
Assets
Master of Business Administration (MBA) or relevant masters level degree (eg. MTEI)
Experience with data visualization (i.e. Tableau)
Regulated utility experience, including knowledge of electricity generation, transmission, distribution and retail sales in Canada / Nova Scotia, with a focus on rates and customer electrification programs.
