WorkSafeNB is seeking an Actuarial Analyst in our Fiscal & Economic Planning Department on a one-year contract. Reporting to the Manager, Actuarial Pricing, you will assist in the delivery of actuarial, economic, and statistical functions and in the provision of long-term fiscal planning through analysis of information provided by a variety of sources.

Your key responsibilities include:

· Assisting in the annual preparation of the estimated liabilities for benefits payable to injured workers.

· Assisting in the annual preparation of premium rates and provide support to WorkSafeNB’s rate model.

· Collaborating with colleagues to extract and validate data from corporate databases.

· Conducting in-depth actuarial analysis to assist management in making key financial decisions.

· Updating internal documentation and provide support in maintaining and improving existing systems using high-level skills in Excel and Access, including the writing, testing, and debugging of VBA code.

· Contributing to research and development of new models and systems.

You possess the following qualifications:

· A university degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, data science or a related field.

· Ability to function in MS Office, particularly Excel and Access, and demonstrate the ability to learn coding in VBA.

Successful completion of Society of Actuaries or Casualty Actuarial Society associateship exams, prior experience in the workers' compensation field, relevant insurance industry or consulting experience as well as prior experience with actuarial pricing, valuation, or statistical software would be assets.

Written and spoken competency in English is required . Written and spoken competency in French would be considered an asset

Pay Scale $68,261.33 to $80,307.72

Hours of work are those required to perform the assigned tasks but shall not be less than 35 hours per week.

Your primary workspace will be from your in-home office, with the occasional expectation of in person meetings, for that reason, working from outside the province or country is not permissible.
