YOUR IMPACT
The Principal Financial Analyst is a key position within the FP&A team and will provide primary financial support to the fastest growing business segment in OpenText, the Cloud Organization. You will work with executive leadership and have high visibility within OpenText as well as direct contribution to the growth of the Cloud business.
You will bring experience with monthly results reporting & analysis, budgeting/forecasting and business analysis and financial modeling. The position requires an individual with a high degree of autonomy, a broad understanding of Infrastructure and a solid financial acumen.
WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS
- Opportunity to lead the planning and forecasting cycles including developing estimates, operating plans/forecasts/reviews, and corporate reporting
- Partnership with functional leaders to create long range plans and short-range forecasts, understanding/evaluating key function drivers. Tracking financial progress against plans and projects at a granular level
- Exposure to global operating expense and planning and reporting
- Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of monthly/quarterly closing/estimates; communicating current results and estimates to functional leaders
- Identify risks & opportunities during each quarter and work with functional leads in mitigating risks and capitalizing on opportunities
- Recommend actions to achieve planned performance for the operating teams
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for understanding and evaluating cloud spending including hosting, colocation, telecom and equipment expenditures
- Performing deep dive analysis with the business to understand and analyze spend and creating financial models to support various business options within the Cloud
- Collaborating with the Accounting team during the monthly, quarterly and year end close process
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- 12+ years of experience in financial analysis or similar role
- Prior experience in similar role supporting Cloud Infrastructure environment or SaaS products
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or another related quantitative discipline. Advanced degree desirable
- Advanced skills and experience in financial modeling and statistical analysis
- Ability to analyze and interpret data, and to identify relevant issues in solving business problems
- Proven ability to use computer software and applications, including Microsoft Office and business analysis tools and SAP for data management, research, analysis and reporting purposes. Proficiency in Excel skills in data compilation and aggregation, including pivot tables, v-lookup & Macros
