Functional Team Lead - Product Support NH90

We are looking for a Functional Team Leadto join one of the most dynamic teams within GKN Fokker: the Product Support team, which is dedicated to the NH90 program. Could this be the role for you?

The Product Support NH90 team is responsible for the maintenance, damage assessment and repair of the helicopter modules produced by GKN Fokker, and as a Functional Team Lead you liaise with all parties, distribute the work and give technical advice to the team and/or clients and partners.

Your responsibilities as Functional Team Lead

As Functional Team Lead, you:

• Liaise with internal/external stakeholders on technical questions and repair design approval sheets and you continuously support the improvement of product, services and technical support process,
• Provide technical functional oversight of engineering design solutions, ensuring all relevant customer, regulatory and airworthiness requirements, within agreed program, schedule and production constraints,
• Create and support the technical designs and check whether the design meets defined requirements, such as dimensions, materials and components,
• Support the development and maintenance of functional work instructions, procedures, technical manuals and guidelines,
• Manage the overall performance, engagement and development of your team members, create a positive work environment and have a coaching leadership style.

As a member of the Product Support NH90 team, you report functionally to the ILS Manager (Centre of Competence Manager ILS and Support) and operationally to the Program Manager Support and to the Engineering Team Leader.

Job requirements

As a Functional Team Lead, you work closely together with your team, you follow up on the agreements and you set a good example. Our team promotes open communication and an accessible, cooperative working style, therefore the Functional Team Lead Product Support should have the ability to connect with the team members, support them in their work and promote a collaborative work environment. In addition, the Functional Team Lead is a go-getter, an experienced engineer with a customer focused mindset. 

In addition, we expect that the Functional Team Lead Product Support will have the following qualifications:

• A bachelor or technical university degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. aerospace, mechanical),
• Around 10 years' experience within a technical discipline in aviation or defense,
• Experience working in multidisciplinary technical project teams (Design/Configuration Management, EWIS, Analysis, Materials & Processes, Manufacturing/Industrialization),
• A solid approach / insight into the delivery and follow-up of engineering tasks,
• Experience in leading a technical team,
• Know-how in maintenance, repair and preventive measures,
• Ability to acquire (internal) inspection authority.
• Familiarity with managing complex technical worksheets, ability to rationalize, judge and evaluate information that is not always clear or mature,
• Knowledge of ATA chapters and EASA/EMAR regulations.

• A monthly salary between € 5.004 and 6.761,- gross, depending on your experience, 
• 8% holiday allowance,

• Commuting costs allowance,

Part of the selection procedure is carrying out the necessary checks and screenings in order to meet the requirements set by GKN Fokker's customers, partners and suppliers within the program. The checks and screenings will be assessed on the basis of frameworks set by our Export Compliance & Security department. Every employee within GKN Fokker must ultimately be authorized to give substance to his or her position. Assessment of checks and screenings can lead to the fact that no content can be given to the position and therefore no employment or deployment can follow. The onboarding at Fokker usually takes 3 weeks.

During the selection process, you will have a screening call with our Talent Acquisition Specialist and 2 interviews with the hiring managers either online or F2F. If we are all positive after these conversations, we will make you a nice offer.
