Both a strategic thinker and a results-oriented team player, you welcome the opportunity to support the strategic planning process and translate it into actionable, quantitative plans in the role of Management Consultant.
Proactive and ready to take the lead on multiple initiatives, while delivering quality deliverables, you’ll contribute to the success of the City and the Division by providing value-added consulting services and support to senior leadership and technology delivery teams – from strategy development through to planning, implementation, reporting, change management and compliance. Working in a multi-stakeholder environment that includes staff from other divisions, you’ll focus on building resilient processes and delivery mechanisms to enable the Division to adopt new changes.
THE ROLES
As a client-driven Management Consultant, you’ll be expected to support a portfolio of diverse City programs and initiatives to achieve strategic objectives and compliance requirements, implement detailed plans and recommend policies and procedures to improve Division performance, technology delivery and public interest outcomes.
Adept at management consulting, strategic planning or business analysis, you’ll provide policy analysis, formulation, coordination and advice to managers and teams on programs, services and the organization at both a strategic and operational level, as well as provide innovative, resourceful solutions and identify approaches, concepts and methods of analyzing complex, and sometimes competing, planning issues. Management will count on your support in assessing and devising solutions from a pragmatic and objective perspective.
Having managed transformational projects from start to end (eg enterprise-wide technology, implementation of smart city strategies) you’re well equipped to shape and define consulting projects with the leadership team and various committees through the development of detailed, timely strategic planning and consulting assignments, including the preparation of planning materials, work plans, reports, briefing notes, and presentations. You're equally prepared to conduct research and analysis and bring conclusions forward to the client/stakeholders/ members of the public for strategic discussion, and contribute to the development and implementation of strategic organization design and effective management/governance systems and processes within divisional and technology domains.
Committed to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement, you’ll promote organization learning and take steps to orchestrate change through corporate-wide and Technology and Innovation initiatives. This will see you fostering and maintaining cooperative working relationships within, and external to, the organization, and establishing and maintaining contact with professionals in related fields to ensure skills, knowledge and practice are current. You'll also research, review, and report on existing and new technology management tools and methodologies, and advise managers on emerging management techniques and other applied concepts and their applicability to the Division.
THE AREAS:
