Position Overview: Marketing Manager, Ontario
We are seeking a passionate and experienced leader to join Edo’s growing marketing team. The Marketing Manager for Ontario will be responsible for developing and executing strategic regional marketing programs designed to promote Edo’s offerings and support our rapid growth in the region.
This position is a managerial role that requires experience managing cross-functional teams, working directly with regional operations leads and stakeholders (franchisees), managing agencies and contractors, and implementing campaigns to drive brand awareness, lead generation, and revenue growth. This role is a pivotal part of our rapid expansion into new markets and will contribute to the overall growth of the business.
The position reports to the Director of Brand Marketing & Communications. This is a permanent, remote, full-time position with benefits. The ideal candidate will reside in the Ontario market and be prepared to travel extensively throughout Ontario to support local markets. Ability to travel to Edo Japan’s corporate head office in Calgary, Alberta is also required regularly.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning and Execution Lead for Regional Marketing:
- Lead the develop and execution of region-specific marketing plans aligned with overall company objectives, ensuring a cohesive and effective approach to local market dynamics.
- Refine, revise, and lead implementation of comprehensive regional marketing plans and tools.
- Lead, monitor, and react to sales nuances in Ontario to ensure the Edo brand is well represented in all markets.
- Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor activities, and opportunities for growth within the region.
- Develop and execute plans including regional new store openings (defined program/playbook that is specific to Ontario).
- Lead communications plans that pertain to the initiatives above with key stakeholders, including Edo franchisees and executives.
Campaign Management:
- Lead strategy and execution for integrated marketing campaigns across various channels such as digital, social media, events, public relations/communications, delivery, and traditional advertising in Ontario.
- Lead, audit, and revise internal tools and assets that support regional marketing campaigns.
- Responsible for management, monitoring and analyzing campaign performance metrics - adjusting strategies as needed to optimize results.
- Lead third party agency support to help execute regional marketing plans and initiatives.
- Build and manage budgets for respective initiatives.
Team Leadership:
- Work collaboratively with regional operations teams and franchisees to address specific community level needs in support of sales growth and trial creation.
- Oversee the management of third parties (agencies) and internal regional marketing team providing guidance, execution strategies, and campaign reporting for the Ontario market.
- Foster, manage, and a lead a collaborative and results-driven team culture for all new market opening initiatives and regional marketing efforts.
Collaboration :
- Lead development and growth of regional marketing team and partners.
- Lead collaboration and partnership with internal operations/digital teams and third-party agency partners to align marketing efforts with sales objectives and ensure seamless communication.
Partnerships and Collaborations:
- Identify, build, and cultivate a strategic partnership program with local businesses, influencers, and organizations to amplify brand presence and reach new customer segments.
- Seek out and identify strategic partnership opportunities at the community and provincial level.
- Aid operations and franchisees in making key city level connections to cement the Edo brand within communities across Ontario and upcoming new markets.
Budget Management:
- Responsible for managing and revising the marketing budget for regional marketing team, ensuring cost-effective strategies, and maximizing the return on investment.
Brand Management:
- Work with director team to ensure brand consistency across all regional marketing activities and communication channels.
- Lead the implementation of strategies to enhance brand visibility and reputation within the region.
- Work alongside Marketing Directors to safeguard and enhance the Edo Japan brand within new regions, ensuring consistent messaging and adherence to brand guidelines across all marketing channels.
- Manage and lead regional team execution for communications plans designed to garner brand awareness.
Market Analysis:
- Manage and develop a program to monitor industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer behavior to identify new opportunities and challenges.
- Lead and manage the collection of insights and recommendations to adapt marketing strategies accordingly.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Lead the collaboration and planning with product development, sales, and other departments to ensure marketing strategies align with overall business objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or education in marketing, business, or a related field; advanced specialization is a plus.
- Proven experience (5 – 7 years+) in marketing management roles, preferably within the quick-service restaurant (QSR) industry or related field.
- Strong understanding of regional market dynamics and consumer behavior. Knowledge of QSR market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor landscape (considered an asset but not required).
- Proven ability to strategize and implement multi-tiered regional marketing programs with a track record of successful campaigns. Experience building successful regional marketing programs within the Ontario market is required.
- Proven and successful experience managing internal teams and external agency partners.
- Proven project management skills (ability to manage multiple projects with seamless execution in a fast-paced environment).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable strategies/decision making.
- A self-starter/problem solver who is driven to proactively identify and implement improvements.

- Familiarity with the franchise model, understanding its unique challenges and opportunities.
