As part of the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) this role is responsible for the comprehensive Project Management of assigned projects, as well as assisting in the growth of a professional project management practice within NB Power.

Key functions include:

• Provide project management and control of all aspects of assigned projects to achieve the project objectives in term of scope, time, cost, and quality.

• Plan, execute, and control the project through all phases from budget approval through preliminary design/definition, detailed design, implementation, testing, and closing.

• Interact with EPMO Leadership, senior NB Power management, senior representatives of consulting and technology partners, PMO Program Managers/Project Managers, Project Leads, Trade Union representatives, government departments, and with industry counterparts to develop and advance assigned programs.

Our ideal teammate will have one of the following:

• Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma in Computer Science / Information Technology

OR

Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma in other discipline with additional relevant Technology Implementation experience or training.

In addition to:

• Seven years Project Management experience leading complex software development and implementation projects.

• In-depth understanding of the software project delivery life cycle models, techniques, and tools including iterative software design/development/testing.

• Experience with PMI aligned project management standards, methods, and tools OR related project management standards.

• Experienced in Project Management and Delivery methodology and commonly used project delivery models including sounds understanding of contract requirements, planning/scheduling techniques, cost and risk management, and negotiations.

• Experience with Microsoft software including MS Project, Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, and SharePoint.

• PMP (Project Management Professional) designation or working towards designation or equivalent.

• Proficiency with Primavera Version 6 will be considered an asset.

An eligibility list generated from this competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same level within a period of up to 12 months.
