Electrical & Instrumentation Planner
Reporting to the Maintenance Electrical / Instrumentation Superintendent, the primary responsibility of this position is to plan, prioritize and schedule maintenance work packages for execution in the field and to maintain the efficient and reliable availability of equipment in the Refinery and is expected to contribute to a positive working environment with a continued commitment to safety
Responsibilities:
- Planning and scheduling of maintenance work for the day-to-day activities of the Maintenance Department.
- Maintaining libraries for planning software package on individual equipment, including tools, wrench sizes, materials, permitting, scaffolding, etc.
- Working closely with the operations superintendents in determining the work scope and priority.
- Solicit feedback from operations and other key stakeholders for the development of plans and schedules for the area.
- Develop a weekly maintenance/project work schedule and communicate to field supervision the work package priorities.
- Identify and define the scope of work associated with regular maintenance.
- Ensure maintenance packages are planned following Industrial Standards.
- Review and audit plans for accuracy and optimized methodology.
- Ensure that the computerized maintenance management system software data files are complete and current.
- Promote Proactive versus Reactive Maintenance.
- Ensures preventive and predictive maintenance programs are included in the planning process.
- Maintain an accurate "Backlog" of approved work orders
- Ensure all pertinent inspection documentation, including outstanding recommendations, are properly documented and filed in the E&I inspection history files.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Journeyperson Trade Certificate ( Electrical or Instrumentation )
- Engineering Technology Diploma (3 years Electrical)
- Administrative background in Turnaround planning processes
- A minimum of two years turnaround planning, associated with heat tracing cable, Heat Trace Controllers and Electrical distribution.
- Planning Certification
- 5 years of oil and Gas (Refinery) industrial electrical / QAQC maintenance practical experience.
- Knowledge of cost accounting principles
- Experience with a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) such as Maximo, SAP, or JD Edwards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (especially able to work in excel, knowledge of Primavera is an asset)
- Self-motivated, independent thinker that requires minimal supervision.
- Must be flexible in adapting to deadlines and changing priorities, has a proactive attitude and a disciplined work ethic.
- Strong organization and communication skills
