Job description

We are currently looking for a PRESS OPERATOR to join our BURLINGTON team. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity that will be responsible for the operation of vinyl presses to produce high quality vinyl records for fulfillment of assigned customer orders. We are looking for a positive, energetic person who is highly motivated and wants to work in a team environment!

Responsibilities

Operate vinyl presses to produce materials consistent with customer specifications while ensuring quality standards are met and adhering to all safety standards and regulations

Read work orders and production schedules to ensure conformance to customer specifications

Set up, start and shut down machines (extruders, hydraulic and pneumatic presses) & monitor their operations, restocking materials as required

Consistently meet or exceed identified target attainment goals on a daily and monthly basis

Perform quality audits at point of manufacture

Perform routine general maintenance on machines and work area daily; maintain cleanliness of equipment and assigned production area at all times

Determine and report product and equipment malfunctions to appropriate parties; troubleshoot equipment malfunctions as necessary

Maintain a constant visual on parts produced and perform visual quality control audits

Ensure to work following all Company policies and procedures

Work collaboratively with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency

Targeted reduction in waste of all forms (time, materials, labour)

Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization (colleagues, supervisors and other departments)

Other duties as assigned by the Team Leader or designate

Physical Demands

• Required to stand for long periods of time (duration of shift)
• Involves repetitive motions for duration of shift; use of hands and wrist continuously in a controlled environment;
• Engage in frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing and pulling of parts and part containers
• Due to the open environment of the warehouse, must be able to work in various weather conditions
• Must be able to carry, push, pull or lift up to 50lbs occasionally
• Adaptable to relative sound pressure levels

Requirements/Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Use of proper PPE while performing functions, CSA steel toed safety boots are mandatory
• Must be willing to work all shifts & to work overtime as business needs require
• Must be able to meet physical demands of the job
• Excellent communication skills: written, electronic and oral
• Must have strong attention to detail
• Must be capable of working in stressful situations in times of need
• Must be able to work well with others and in a team atmosphere
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
