About the Opportunity

The Central Zone IMIT Operations Manager for Clinical Documentation, Audit & Reporting reports to the IMIT Provincial Manager and is responsible for the transformation of health information to achieve provincial standardization across NS Health. The Manager is responsible to provide strategic and program-level leadership of Information Management including operational oversight, subject matter expertise, day-to-day supervision, and support of IMIT clinical documentation, audit & reporting activities. The Manager is responsible to ensure health information standards and clinical documentation best practices are implemented and maintained. The Manager independently addresses issues and makes decisions of moderate complexity with little or no supervision and delivers clear communication and documentation of complex concepts related to document management and disclosure of patient health information.

The Manager is responsible to manage day-to-day activities for enterprise document management and serves as a subject matter expert (SME) for the associated workflows across for the Nova Scotia Health Authority (NSH) including but not limited to, document imaging of personal health information (PHI), retention management of legal health records, disclosure of personal health information, resolving unknown patient issues, and ensuring appropriate scanning of critical care indicators.

Demonstrating leadership behaviors and capabilities consistent with best practice, this position will be responsible for providing oversight and assistance to a team in the provision of 24x7 operational service. As part of operational support activities, maintaining a strong relationship with NSH partners, and with all other IMIT clinical solution teams is a vital component of this role. The Manager will also collaborate with stakeholders and clinicians to ensure quality and timely patient information is available and accessible, and quality service is delivered to meet the objectives outlined by the program leadership.
