Reporting to the Director of Care or designate, and working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, the RN will work closely with other front line team members to provide high quality care and services to residents. The RN supports the team it works with in creating a warm, respectful, positive, safe, supportive culture for our residents, their families and other team members. As part of their role, the RN ensures care and services provided to the residents aligns with organizational polices, care standards, and regulations.

Responsibilities: 

• The ability to take initiative; able to work independently and energized by developing the skills and abilities of others both inside and outside personal area of expertise
• Demonstrate the ability and temperament to deal tactfully, effectively, and cooperatively with residents, family members, contract agencies, team members, leadership, and visitors
• Lifetime learner, quick study, and able to communicate and teach new concepts to others
• Driven toward quality outcomes in all disciplines. Ability to implement and support quality improvements and organizational quality initiatives
• Embraces and supports person centered care, holistic care, and resident personhood
• The ability to support all team members who provide resident care and services
• Understanding and ability to demonstrate advocacy

Qualifications and Experience:

• Qualified Registered Nurse (RN)
• Minimum of 1 year experience in residential care is considered an asset
• An equivalent combination of experience and qualifications will be considered
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong computer literacy
• Conducts oneself in a professional manner
• Demonstrates and supports the Vision, Mission, and Values of Optima Living 
• Energetic, positive, a natural leader who has the personal skills to motivate, encourage and support team members
• Possesses the physical capabilities required for this role
