Safety and Security Monitor
Temporary Full Time (4 Positions)
Location: Happy Valley- Goose Bay, NL
(PCN: 56644TMP, 56645TMP, 56646TMP, 56647TMP)
The primary purpose of this position is to work as an active member of the health care team under the direction of the Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse, providing a high standard of care to clients at the Labrador Health Centre and in accordance with the LG Model of Nursing Clinical Practice. The employee is responsible for ensuring a safe environment for clients, families, co-workers, and themselves, and reports to the Manager of Patient Services.
Qualifications:
" Graduation from high school or equivalency;
" Current certification in Basic Life Support (CPR);
" Successful completion of Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVIC) or willingness to complete (within timeframe designated by the employer);
" Successful completion of Mosby's Suite Suicide Assessment and Precautions or willingness to complete (within timeframe designated by the employer);
" The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory Certificate of Conduct and vulnerable sector check;
Duties:
" Obtains reports on client's behaviour and plan of care, specifically relating to safety and security issues;
" Observes and monitors the client's behaviour related to safety and security, and reports any changes or concerns;
" Maintains visual observation of the client at all times, ensuring the client is never left unattended;
" Responds to client's needs and requests in consultation with the assigned nurse;
" Documents according to organizational policies and unit guidelines;
" Maintains strict confidentiality on all matters related to the client;
" Other related duties as required.
Salary:
" CG - 18 of the NAPE-HS Salary Scales, $19.66 to $21.18 per hour plus the applicable Labrador Allowance;
Hours of Work:
" Variable shifts; Variable hours;
