Job description
Our client is seeking a highly motivated Senior Engineering Project Manager to join their team. You will be responsible for managing a team of engineers and specialized contractors leading specific projects in USA /Canada. You will also play a major role in coordination of Automation Specialists and Electrical/Mechanical Contractors for machine build, prototype machine development and field personnel.
This is a true working Engineering Manager position. Project Management will be your key goal for this role. This role involves understanding mechanical/hydraulic and simple control design. SolidWorks Design oversight and ability to provide support and training to field personnel.
Your role and responsibility will be:
- Manage all contractors and direct reports within the Project Management team
- Significant project management responsibilities (Managing project schedule, project timelines, project budget, project milestones, coordination of relevant Electrical/Control and Mechanical contractors to the specified project)
- Supervision of the On-Site Field personnel, providing training and support to field personnel all across USA/Canada
- Lead Design Reviews in a SolidWorks Environment (Translate conceptual drawings into technical SW drawings and schematics, Oversee new product development including product specifications, owner’s manual and product launch).
- Support and lead the prototype build of production tools and prototype machinery.
- Provide remote hands-on support to shop floor, field and customer personnel. This includes: (remote and field support for install of new OEM machinery, provide remote support for tooling issues (equipment maintenance), provide remote support in field to customer personnel and installation/operation of new products.
You will possess:
- Eng an asset or Mechanical Engineering degree. Non Engineers are valid with proper Manufacturing training and experience. Experience with Design in a Solid Works environment is a Must.
- 5+ years of experience in Managing Engineering Projects across USA/Canada in a OEM/Automation or Machine Build environment. (Managing Project Schedules, Milestones, Project Budget, Project Kick Off, Leading Design Review Process)
- Experience in Direct supervision of a small Engineering Team and Coordinate with Electrical/Control/Mechanical Contractors on specified projects.
- Ability to be comfortable to analyze basic engineering models with assistance from a junior engineer.
- Experience providing remote field support for install of new OEM Machinery, tooling issues (Equipment maintenance), and provide remote support for the installation/operation of new products.
Salary: $100,000 - $120,000 per annum + Profit Sharing + Full Benefits
