Company Introduction: T&T Supermarket Inc. was founded in 1993 with two stores in BC. Since then, it has expanded rapidly and is now Canada’s largest Asian supermarket chain with 33 stores across the country: 14 in BC, 7 in Alberta, 11 in Ontario, and 1 in Quebec. The Company’s continuous expansion is going to bring more new stores in the next couple of years.
The Role: Reporting to and supervised by the Director, Human Resources or his/her delegates, this position encompasses various responsibilities within the department. Primarily focused on the department’s administrative tasks, the job incumbent will also be responsible for compiling various human resources reports and/or returns, managing human resources record retention and filing, coordinating with stakeholders internally and externally, arranging meetings and department activities, and providing support in other human resources functions as needed. Adaptability and willingness to take on additional projects or assignments are essential for success in this role.
- Major Responsibilities: Provide administrative support to the department, including but not limited to managing incoming and outgoing mails, overseeing supplies ordering and maintenance, arranging department meetings and taking minutes, organizing department activities, ensuring proper retention and filing of department records.
- Manage department communication; draft, update and distribute notices, memos, forms and staff contact list as required or on regular basis.
- Perform accurate input, maintenance, and verification of employee personal data on HRIS or other relevant platforms, including checking and verifying data on spreadsheets, lists, or other documents.
- Compile and prepare various human resources and related reports and documents as required.
- Organize or assist in coordinating the distribution of corporate gifts or miscellaneous items to employees. Top of Form
- Support Talent Acquisition Team in its daily functions such as receiving job applications and answering enquires, screening of applications, participating in recruitment activities, preparing and conducting new employee onboarding and orientation, preparing documents and retention, administering staff identity and discount card provision, process probation end processing, handling candidate experience program, compiling related reports, and any other responsibilities as assigned by the Talent Acquisition Manager.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and proper employee records at all times.
- Support the efficient day-to-day operation of the Human Resources Department by performing any assigned duties as required.
- Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of office experience, preferably in human resources.
- Strong interest and aptitude in human resources management, high integrity and able to handle confidential information professionally.
- Knowledge of Canadian Employment Standards and Human Rights Acts is an advantage.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving and people skills; detail oriented and meticulous.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, capable of prioritizing, multitasking, and meeting tight deadlines.
- A quick learner and a team player who can work independently and collaboratively.
- Fluent in written and spoken English; proficiency in Chinese (Mandarin/Cantonese) is an advantage.
