Job description

Position Overview

Reporting to the General Manager, and supporting the Business Development Manager, the

Marketing and Business Development Specialist responsible for driving business revenue while seeking avenues for expansion and growth for each of the Branch’s business units. This position will focus on opportunities for diversification, will research and hold knowledge regarding all industry trends. Generate business opportunities through relationship building with new and existing clients.

The Business Development Specialist works in a senior sales position within the company on

local opportunities and in conjunction with the Business Development Manager on regional and national opportunities. The Business Development Specialist will work with internal teams to understand the branch capabilities to increase sales opportunities and thereby maximize revenue. Strategic sales planning is a key component of this role. Thorough knowledge of the market is required, and in depth understanding of the solutions, capabilities and services Belfor can provide. This position must possess solid knowledge, including awareness and

understanding, of the company’s competitors in each of the Branches business units.

Job Duties

● Identify and meet with potential new markets / clients

● Identify and communicate those business opportunities and competitive trends to

Management

● Build positive relationships with clients; maintain client retention, manage existing clients

and ensure they remain satisfied and positive

● Maintain and leverage the Belfor brand

● Cold call as appropriate within the market to qualify and pursue business opportunities

● Drive sales with the development of proposals for new initiatives, and seek ways to

optimize, improve and grow current services

● Active participation in professional associations, and ensure that Belfor brand is visible

in all appropriate venues

● Through sponsorship and community awareness ensure that Belfor is viewed as a good

corporate citizen

● Develop a business development plan to ensure that all existing and potential sales

opportunities are explored

● Develop a Belfor profile through visual presentations which represents all business units

within the branch and the company overall

● Ensure that the appropriate marketing material is developed and readily available for

promotional purposes

● Develop business / marketing events supporting branches

● Attend industry events to develop and sustain industry networks, to stay current in all

industry trends and to keep informed on future trends and opportunities

● Incorporate new sales ideas into daily business while understanding Belfor people and

capabilities

● Provide excellent customer service

● Work under time constraints to meet specific timelines

● Ensure attention to detail and keen sense of safeguarding other people’s property and

information

● Will practice good housekeeping at all times to ensure a safe and non-cluttered worksite

● Participates in and demonstrates an understanding of safety principles and practices;

follows all safety policies and procedures to support a safe working environment, including safe operation of machines and equipment

● Comply with all Belfor ​policies and procedures, as well as legislative requirements

● Attend all Belfor ​sponsored training courses

Qualifications

● Post secondary degree, diploma and / or certification, in Business Administration and / or

Marketing & Sales

● 3 + years’ experience in sales and / or marketing role preferred

● Construction / Restoration / Insurance experience preferred

● Excellent sales, negotiation and persuasion skills

● Strong research and strategic analysis skills

● Driven, enthusiastic and intuitive

● A proven track record in strong presentation skills

● Knowledge of Sales Management, Marketing and Strategic and Business planning

● Comprehensive understanding of customer service, principles and practices

● Eligible to operate a motor vehicle per Belfor ’s ​vehicle policy

● Ability to work within a team or independently as needed

● Strong written and verbal communication skills

● Proven ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment

● Advanced computer and/or tablet/iPad experience with Microsoft Office programs such as

Excel, Word and Google Suite

● Willing to work evenings, on call and weekends when requested

● Periodic travel may be required

Physical Demands

● Frequent lifting from 5-40 lbs., unassisted (from 35-65% of the time)

● Occasional lifting from 41 lbs. +, assisted (up to 50% of the time)

● Access and mobility in tight spaces

● Sustained periods of standing, sitting, walking, bending, and kneeling
