The House of Commons Office of the Clerk and Secretariat is currently looking to staff the Communications Advisor position.

With the support of a senior communications advisor, you will work on an assigned portfolio of communications files. You will establish strong working relations with internal partners to better understand their business objectives, challenges and constraints, and promote operational excellence through non‑partisan, quality, timely, accurate, and clear communications. You will be working as part of a dynamic, collegial team that handles strategic communications, social media, crisis communications, the corporate identity, and media relations.

You are a bilingual communications professional with superior written and verbal communication skills, including a strong grasp of plain language. You have sound knowledge of communications principles and practices, can develop key messages that resonate with audiences, and have experience developing and implementing communications strategies, tools, products and services. You possess strong analytical and organizational skills, enjoy doing research, and have an aptitude for technology.
