Your new company
Hays has partnered with a boutique construction management and general contractor that specializes in medium density residential condominiums. They are looking for an experienced Site Superintendent who has ample experience in site operations for mid-rise residential construction projects from beginning to completion. The first project will be in Orangeville, Ontario, a 5-storey concrete residential building.
Your new role
The Site Superintendent will be responsible for all operations of our clients' construction site. They will manage all aspects pertaining to the site development, coordination and construction of their designated project. They will coordinate the scheduling of consultants, trades, utilities, and building inspectors from the foundation stage to occupancy. They will ensure that the scope of work is followed, and perform quality control duties, making sure that things are up to code. They will enforce safety practices on site, maintain daily logs of activities and communicate constantly with the project team on progress. Finally, the Site Superintendent will ensure deadlines are met and mitigate any issues that arise.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful Site Superintendent will have ample years managing mid-rise residential construction projects in the Greater Toronto Area. They will be experienced at being the primary superintendent on the site and have all the necessary safety training. Furthermore, they will be an effective communicator with the ability to work with and report back to all stakeholders. They will have a high attention to detail, a sound understanding of the Ontario Building Code, and have strong leadership qualities.
