Job description
Pure are delighted to be partnering with a well established, friendly organisation with a real ‘family feel’ who are experiencing expansion in their company, and as a result now seek a Mechanical Engineer / Trainee Project Manager.
This role is a perfect opportunity for someone with a minimum 2-3 years experience within Mechanical Engineering that is looking to further develop their skill set.
You would offer general engineering support with the below responsibilities;
- Execute equipment contracts from purchase order to delivery.
- Support project execution and engineering during design and execution of projects from initial concept to final design approval.
- Check engineering designs (customer and manufacturing level) to ensure correct design and part usage.
- Prepare and modify 2D mechanical drawings for manufacturing, vendor or customer use by studying engineering specifications; creating layouts of the system, components, and parts.
- Create work orders and modify them per procedures related to all equipment and if necessary, replacement part contracts.
- Carry out mechanical final functional testing of equipment and spare parts.
- Support engineering and sales such as creating cost estimates for potential projects and sourcing parts and components.
- Provide expertise to solve engineering problems.
- Maintain databases and drawing libraries and comply with in-house procedures, including maintaining engineering files to ISO standards.
- Participate in engineering process improvements.
- Participate in or lead material testing and/or other special projects.
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Other duties as assigned.
The ideal applicant for this position will possess the following skills;- Sound knowledge of engineering theory and design criteria.
- Understanding of industry standards design and ability to verify products that conform.
- Proficient computer skills (AutoCAD, Solidworks, Microsoft Office, e-mail, record keeping).
- Strong sense of urgency, initiative and a drive to achieve results.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
- Likable personality and ability to work well across disciplines.
- Effective communication (verbal and written) skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work calmly under pressure to targets and time schedules.
- Ability to initiate and act independently based upon knowledge of company operations, policies, and procedures, and as part of a team.
- Ability to develop and implement complex procedures from general instructions.
Education;- BSc in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 2-3 years experience
This is a full time, permanent position working Monday to Friday. The working hours would be 8m-4pm or 9am-5pm. This position is paying a competitive salary and comes with the usual benefits including free parking, holiday, and pension. This is a site-based position, however there would be the option to work from home 1 day per week after a qualifying period.
