Unit Summary
The care at Hamilton Health Sciences is provided utilizing a multidisciplinary approach dedicated to the principles of patient and family centered care. The successful candidate will be an occasional part time (OPT) Dietetic Assistant (DA) reporting to the manager on E4/F4 (surgical oncology). The OPT DA will work at 3 hospital sites (Juravinski , McMaster, General) providing coverage for vacation/time off for all part time/full time DA’s; as well as weekend work at McMaster. The OPT DA will gain experience on many different floors and areas of each hospital assisting various RD’s. Weekday and weekend availability needed.
Responsibilities of the Dietetic Assistant includes: screening of various in-patient populations to identify clients at nutritional risk, development of nutritional care plans in less complex patient populations, implementation of nutritional care plans including patient education, monitoring and follow-up of the nutrition care plan as required, and participation in professional and/or health team activities related to patient care.
Schedule Work Hours
Monday to Friday days and weekends as needed.
