Job description

We are looking for Meat Cutters to join a food processing plant located in Richmond, B.C!

** Specializing in proteins, the successful candidates must be comfortable working with different kinds of raw meat including beef, poultry, and pork **

What you need to know:

* Must be comfortable working in a cool environment; 3 degrees *
* Must be comfortable working with raw meat including beef, poultry, and pork *

Schedule: Sunday - Thursday
Shift Time: Afternoon; 1:00 pm - 9:30 pm
Wage: $21.00/hr to start + premiums + scheduled wage increases upon permeant hire
Location: Richmond, BC
Transit friendly location

Must be legally permitted to work in Canada and reside in BC

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Meat Cutter will be accountable for the processing and production of Beef, Pork, Poultry

• Clean meats to prepare for processing or cutting
• Cut carcasses, sides, and quarters
• Utilize meat-cutting equipment, such as slicers, saws, grinders, and knives, with precision and safety
• Trim and debone meat to remove excess fat, bones, and undesirable portions
• Ensure that meat is prepared according to customer preferences, including thickness and weight
• Ensure the quality of the received product is up to standard and dates are correct before processing
• Package/bag product as required
• Ensure tools and equipment are sterilized before the end of the shift to fulfill food safety requirements
• Ensure proper weight, description, and date are recorded on the product label
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
• Full-time candidates only who can work a Sunday-Thursday schedule
• Must be comfortable working with all types of raw meats; beef, chicken, pork
• Must be comfortable working in cooler environments
• Must possess strong communication skills
• Previous experience using knives required
• Previous food production experience is an asset
• Previous butchery experience is an asset
• Knowledgeable in the various types/cuts of meat desired
• Steel toed boots required
