Toromont CAT Power Systems is looking for a Strategy and Marketing Manager
Location: Orenda Power Systems – Brampton, ON
The Power Systems Strategy & Marketing Manager will be responsible to;
- Identify and develop the short and long term strategy for all Power Division verticals (6).
- Develop the Power Division de-carbonization and electrification strategy and work with the team to implement.
- Interface with marketing resources to manage advertisement, web presence, coverage, and other marketing functions.
- Evaluate the pipeline of opportunity and make inventory decisions for the verticals. Manage inventory across the division.
- Manage the Estimation Team.
- As this role further develops, identify resources required to deliver strategic imperatives.
And would be responsible to:
- Manage the estimation team to ensure accurate and competitive quotes. Work with sales team and engineering. Feedback loop on financial execution of projects versus original costing.
- Manage and maintain the pipeline of opportunity and make decisions relative to ordering and maintaining inventory across the division.
- Develop the longer-term decarb and electrification strategy for the division and support the shaping of the energy transition strategy for the enterprise.
- Interface with corporate marketing department to deliver on day-to-day advertisement and marketing needs
- Through market understanding and analysis, partner with VP to develop the short and mid-term strategy for the division. Direct the sales teams relative to territory coverage, pricing, sales programs, and new product introductions.
- Maintain a broad knowledge of the markets we serve and identify opportunities for organic growth and growth through acquisition. Develop the strategy around the integration of these new opportunities.
Qualifications :
- More than 10 years of experience (with at least 6 years in leading a team) with Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and/or MBA would be an asset.
- Knowledge of engineering practices and applications related to our products to ensure that business decisions related to quoting and engineering costing are accurate and optimized. This will also be required in the evaluation of products and services that may be acquired or grown organically to suit the future strategy of our business.
- Experience of financial modelling and associated business justifications is an asset in the evaluation of potential organic growth (requiring investment), acquisition targets, market and territory coverage.
- Proficient in Excel, Power BI, IMACS, QuoteLog would be an asset.
- Strong Communication skills with a strong sense of the politics internal and external to our business. Required for external messaging and internal buy in across verticals (CI/RI) and across Power Division.
- Critical thinking and problem solving with a lateral thought process to evaluate adjacent opportunities to the business that we are currently in and also to evaluate new opportunities.
- Recognized as Team Player and able to draw from a wide group of individuals across the enterprise to support strategy development.
- Ultimately Customer focused to ensure that all marketing efforts, process efforts, and strategies are aligned to deliver a strong customer experience.
- Previous customer selling and sales leadership is an asset in this role.
- Leadership skills at a level that will enable strong direction of our team and the enterprise. Develop plans, delegate action, deliver results.
