Western Health, situated on the scenic west coast, is seeking the services of a salaried Psychiatrist for Western Memorial Regional Hospital, 1 Brookfeild Ave, Corner Brook, Newfoundland. This position is one of eight (8) responsible for Psychiatry Services at WMRH. The position requires a demonstrated ability to, demonstrated experience working within an interprofessional practice model, and experience working in inpatient and outpatient settings. Experience working with patients with complex needs and treatment resistance would be an asset. On call is scheduled on an equitable basis with the other members of the Discipline.

Western Memorial Regional Hospital is a 171-bed regional referral centre for Western Newfoundland and provides services to a population base of approximately 78,000 people. We are affiliated with Faculty of Medicine of Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador and we encourage and support academic interests.

Qualifications Required: Medical Degree, eligible for licensure as a Psychiatrist with The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador (CPSNL), Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certified or eligible and satisfy the credentialing requirements of Western Health's Discipline of Psychiatry. A minimum of 2 years experience in related work is an asset.

Hours of Work: 80 hours biweekly plus on-call obligations

Remuneration: The Specialist Salary Scale ranges from $263,672 - $285,596 as outlined in the current Memorandum of Agreement (MOA). The Department of Health and Community Services in accordance with Provincial Guidelines will officially determine a Physician's step assignment with yearly progression thereafter.
An annual Retention Bonus is offered in accordance with the current MOA. Additional benefits are available.
