Job description

The kitchen manager is expected to demonstrate good work ethic, dependability and team work. Our manager takes on the exciting challenge of leading the kitchen team in all aspects of meal preparation and service, and is responsible for providing balanced meal choices in a timely manner while maintaining a positive rapport with campers. The ideal person for this position has high energy and stamina for long hours in a hot kitchen, has interest in team work and community service, is motivated and enjoys working with varying clientele.

Responsabilités

● Manage, train and support kitchen staff

● Prepare and provide balanced meal choices in a timely manner to campers three times a day

● Seek ways to improve kitchen processes

● Kitchen inventory and purchasing.

○ Manages freezer, dry storage, and walk-in, assesses first use needs to ensure reduced product waste; ensures all freezer pulls are performed pro-actively.

○ Maintain and update kitchen inventory and place orders when there are shortageEnsure compliance with and is accountable for all provincial employment legislation

● Ensure compliance with and is accountable for all provincial employment legislation

● Maintain sanitation and safety standards in the kitchen area

○ Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen

○ Set standards for kitchen cleanliness and ensuring cleaning is done regularly

○ Conducts walk-through of kitchen upon arrival and throughout the shift to assess cleanliness and

determine kitchen readiness.

● 1+ years of kitchen experience in a comparable environment (restaurant, cafeteria, camp).

● Demonstrates leadership abilities

● Effective communication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills including conflict

resolution.

● Heavy focus on health and safety

● Food Safety certifications
