Senior Accountant- Sherbrooke, QC Canada, Remote from Quebec or Hybrid in Sherbrooke, QUebec, Canada, Full time

PASQAL designs and develops Quantum Processing Units and dedicated software tools. These innovative processors address applications which are out of the reach of the most powerful existing supercomputers, encompassing real-world challenges as well as fundamental science. As they are very low energy intensive, they will significantly contribute to reduce the carbon footprint of the computing industry.

PASQAL has partnerships with key users in the fields of energy, IT, finance, drug and chemical design, automotive. The maturity and potential of our technology and the quality of our scientific team has been rewarded several times at French, European and global levels.

PASQAL is opening a technical center in Canada which will provide quantum computing hardware capabilities and software services for North America. We are setting up a team of passionate people dedicated to promoting PASQAL's technology and educating the market on the power of neutral-atom quantum computing.

As an Accountant reporting to the CEO of Canada and with a dotted line to Head Office finance, you will play a crucial role in providing high-level support for the company's growing accounting and financial activities. With support from our head office Finance teams, you will be responsible for conducting all accounting operations including full general accounting cycle, payroll and expenses, benefits, taxes, month-end closing and balancing, budget monitoring and audit-readiness. You will support continuous process improvement, financial performance and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

This is a full-time and hybrid or full remote role, based in Sherbrooke (Québec, Canada) with premises located in Espace Quantique 1 , at the heart of a brand-new and exciting technology hub.

To be successful in this role, you will have the following qualifications:

Requirements

• 2+ years general accounting experience in a Canada based finance department as an assistant controller or Accountant, with a broad spectrum of accounting tasks
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting. CPA or CPA candidate preferred
• Strong experience with Excel and Microsoft Office, “tech savvy”
• Excellent math and analytical skills-Experience (direct or in a supporting role) preparing and monitoring budgets
• Attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Bilingual French / English required.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment, wearing many hats
• Self-Starter, able to work with little supervision. Team player

Nice to have:

• CPA Certification
• Experience with an ERP (at implementation or later)
• Experience developing and documenting standard operating procedures for book close, annual audits, and overall internal financial controls.
• Experience working in a multi-national company
