About the Position
Reporting to the Site Superintendent, the Apprentice Carpenter will support work on site by assisting with the coordination of trade activities, including the implementation and day to day oversight of the site safety program, in addition to a variety of daily tasks required to execute the project safely and successfully.

Duties and Responsibilities - Work closely with the Project Site Superintendent daily to ensure the site operates effectively.
- Operate telehandler or bobcat to assist with loading and unloading of materials as required.
- Perform carpentry and general labour duties as needed.
- Construction and Maintenance of equipment and structures required to complete the work, including hording, heaters, fuel lines, and safety barricades
- Assist in conducting sub-trades site safety orientations, ensure daily safety documentation is completed and submitted by all project team members.
- Be a positive Project Teammate, maintaining a visible and engaged presence on site.
- Complete daily hazard assessments, and assisting in weekly site inspections.
- Respond to onsite issues and emergencies
- Ensure site security is maintained through out project, such as site fencing and building lockup.
- Maintain Project Site cleanliness, from debris, garbage, snow removal, sweeping, pumping water and other required work to maintain a clean, safe and productive work environment.
Qualifications - High School Diploma or GED, preferred.
- Journeyman Carpenter or equivalent experience
- Experience working on multi-family or commercial construction sites contributing directly to the work.
- Experience directing and supervising the work of laborers.
- Experience operating bobcats, lifts & zoom-booms is required.
- Ability to read, understand and interpret plans, details and shop drawings is desired.
- Solid understanding of various building assemblies, their components and how they are constructed in the field.
- Intermediate knowledge of framing required to perform minor framing duties such as installing wood stairs, landing, and railing.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work and work outdoors.
- First Aid, Fall Protection Training, and other safety training desired.
- A valid class five (5) driver’s license and personal reliable transportation is required
